How to Improve Your Health and Fitness with Fitstop’s 4 Pillars

At Fitstop, our mission is to inspire people to move more to live more. Everything we do from our program, in-app recipes, and ongoing education are designed to help you live your best quality of life, say yes to more opportunities and genuinely enjoy the process of fitness. We’ve broken down everything we do into what we believe are the 4 most important pillars to living your healthiest life – movement, nutrition, recovery and connection.

Fitstop’s Four Pillars of Health

MOVEMENT

Movement plays a vital role in maintaining a strong, fit, resilient, injury-free body, allowing you to live a long, healthy life. As well as the physical benefits of movement, it can also help improve sleep quality, increase energy levels and improve mental well-being.

Our approach to movement inside of the gym is providing a fitness fusion training program that incorporates elements of strength, metabolic conditioning and endurance across the week. Following a program like this means you can train a minimum of 3 times a week in the gym to get everything you need in order to live and maintain a better and more active lifestyle outside of the gym too.

NUTRITION

Nutrition plays an extremely important role in maintaining a healthy body, a focused mind and helping you feel and perform at your best. To live and maintain an active lifestyle, it’s important to fuel your body with balanced, nutrient-dense foods that support your energy levels inside the gym and outside of the gym. To us, this means every meal or snack should be intentional and contain adequate amounts of protein for immune health, muscle recovery and hormone production, carbohydrates for sustained energy for the brain and body, improved recovery and easy digestion, and fats for healthy hormone production and cells, sustained energy and nutrient absorption.*

Often, when life gets busy nutrition becomes an afterthought so our top recommendation is to keep it simple and prepare your meals to help you feel your best and live your healthiest life.

RECOVERY

With any form of physical activity or exercise comes the need for recovery. This allows you to continue to live an active lifestyle for the long term, rather than just a short period of time. Physical exercise, although extremely important, also puts an element of stress on the body. Your recovery time after exercise is when your body adapts to this stress and helps you get fitter and stronger.

The best things you can do to help speed up the recovery process to support an active lifestyle is prioritise sleepstay hydrated, factor in some active recovery in the form of a walk, swim, cycle or stretch, fuel your body adequately, limit alcohol consumption and follow a well-rounded training program where your body is exposed to different intensities throughout the week.

An important thing to remember with recovery is the harder you push your body in training, the more you have to prioritise recovery to ensure longevity and health.

CONNECTION

Humans, as social beings, need some form of human connection when it comes to living a fulfilled, happy life. Studies have shown that the quality of relationships and how connected people feel to others heavily contributes to overall health and well-being. We believe there are huge benefits to combining movement with human connection, which is why our program is delivered in a supportive, team training environment and we pride ourselves on building genuine communities of like-minded Fitstoppers on a shared journey to becoming the best version of themselves.

LEVEL UP YOUR APPROACH TO HEALTH AND FITNESS

There are so many things you can do in your daily life to ensure you live a long, healthy life. At Fitstop, we have narrowed the focus to 4 main pillars – movement, nutrition, recovery and connection – and hope that you’ve taken some inspiration to continue to move more to live more.
