    Coach

    Coach Ben – Head Coach | Owner

    With over 16 years of coaching experience, Coach Ben brings a rare blend of elite sporting knowledge, academic expertise, and real-world coaching insight to every session he leads.

    Holding a Bachelor of Applied Science (Sport & Exercise Science), Ben has coached athletes and teams across Rugby League, Golf, Basketball, and Swimming, and understands what it takes to build performance across a wide range of physical demands. His own athletic journey saw him play Rugby Union in New Zealand, the UK, and Australia, giving him first-hand experience of structured training, discipline, and high-performance environments.

    What sets Ben apart is his philosophy on fitness. He believes the biggest mistake people make is treating fitness as something with an endpoint — a goal weight, a finish line, or an “ideal” body. Instead, Ben coaches fitness as a lifelong practice: one that supports physical performance, long-term health markers, and, most importantly, mental health and resilience.

    Ben is especially passionate about helping people rediscover structure, purpose, and confidence in their training. Having gone through the process himself — setting goals, committing to the work, progressing through training blocks, and achieving outcomes — he understands both the physical and mental challenges that come with returning to consistent training.

    At the heart of Ben’s coaching is community. He strongly believes that humans thrive together, and that our greatest strengths and achievements come when we train, struggle, and succeed as a group. This belief underpins the culture he has helped build at Fitstop Mascot — one that values support, accountability, and shared progress.
