    Luke Downey

    Owner

    Luke’s not your typical “fitness industry” guy, and that’s exactly the point.

    He built Fitstop Coffs Harbour while working a full-time career in civil construction, juggling long days, early mornings, and everything that usually sends people off track. He knows what it’s like to start strong on a Monday… and feel it slipping by Thursday.

    So instead of building another gym, he built something that actually works.

    Structured training. Real accountability. A community that notices when you show up, and when you don’t. Luke’s big on a few things: Show up. Do the work. Don’t overcomplicate it. …and enjoy it where you can.

    Outside the gym, he’s a dad first, usually splitting time between the beach, a golf course, and family life — which is exactly why Fitstop is built for people who need training to fit into real life, not take it over.

    These days, he’s focused on making Fitstop Coffs the place locals default to when they want to train properly, not just occasionally. No fluff. No egos. Just good people, good training, and a system that keeps you coming back. Now helping 150+ locals train consistently every single week.

    Mikayla

    Manager - Operator of the Experience

    If you’ve been to Fitstop Coffs, you’ve met Mikayla.

    She’s the one making everything run on time, on point, and exactly how it should.

    High energy, always moving (usually dancing mid-session), and across every detail — from your first enquiry to your last rep.

    She’s your first point of contact, your go-to for anything, and the one making sure nothing slips through the cracks.

    Don’t let the energy fool you though — she’s sharp.

    Technique matters. Standards matter. And she’ll make sure both are where they should be.

    Big on community, big on people, and just as comfortable talking training as she is talking F1 or life outside the gym.

    If something feels seamless here… it’s probably Mikayla.

    Kellen Wood

    Coach - Banter King

    Kellen’s been around Fitstop long enough he may as well have his name on the lease. Originally from Northern England (Irish, apparently… depending who you ask), his accent might throw you early, but his energy won’t.

    He’s loud, he’s relentless, and he’ll keep you moving whether you like it or not.

    Rugby league player, full-time pest, and the king of banter, if you’re in his session, expect to get pushed, called out, and probably stitched up along the way.

    All jokes aside though, he cares.

    About your progress. About the session. About the people in the room.

    Train with Kellen once and you’ll get it.

    Train with him twice… and you’re in.

    Jarryd Franck

    Coach - Tank

    Doesn’t say much… doesn’t need to.

    Jarryd (or “Tank”) might fly under the radar, until you see him lift. Strong. Controlled. Effortless.

    The kind of strength that makes it look easy… because the technique is dialled.

    As an exercise physiologist, he doesn’t just coach, he fixes things.

    If something feels off, he’ll spot it. If your movement needs work, he’ll clean it up. If you want to lift properly, he’s your guy.

    Dry sense of humour, high standards, no wasted reps.

    Train with Tank and you won’t just work harder you’ll move better, lift smarter, and get stronger the right way.

    Amelia

    Coach - Social Butterfly

    Don’t let the age fool you — Amelia runs a room.

    She’s one of the first to welcome you in, the last to leave a conversation, and somehow knows everyone’s name within about five minutes.

    Big energy. Big personality. Zero awkwardness.

    If you’re new, she’ll make you feel like you’ve been here for months. If you’ve been here a while, she’s probably already dragged you into a chat, a laugh, or something social outside the gym.

    But it’s not just vibes.

    Her coaching is sharp.

    Technique matters, and she’ll make sure you’re moving properly while still keeping the session fun, fast, and high energy.

    Life of the party, member favourite, and the kind of coach that makes people stick around.

    Train with Amelia and you won’t just get a workout — you’ll feel part of it.
