How Fitstop Supports the Rise of Fitness Racing

The fitness industry is evolving.

Events like HYROX, Turf Games and other fitness racing formats are no longer niche, they’re becoming mainstream goals for everyday athletes. Members aren’t just training to “get sweaty”, they’re training for something more and at Fitstop, we understand that performance doesn’t stop at our doors and we don’t ignore industry shifts, we grow with them.

That’s why our Athletic Performance Team has developed an additional 8-week Fitness Racing Program, giving locations the option to run dedicated sessions that are designed to prepare members for competition while still complementing our structured 12-week training blocks.

Designed to Complement, Not Replace

This isn’t a separate training philosophy but an extension of what Fitstop already does best. The 8-week Fitness Racing Program is designed to sit alongside our members’ existing training. It gradually overloads key performance markers, builds strength endurance, improves running capacity and increases familiarity with fitness racing event movements they will face in HYROX, Turf Games and more. This an additional layer of preparation to support our members in ensuring they are race day and training with intention.

What the 8-Week Fitness Racing Program Includes

This program has been built with the same level of structure and intention as our core programming.

Pre-Program Testing

Before the block begins, members can test elements of their chosen race to establish baseline numbers. This gives them:

  • Clear performance markers
  • Personalised pacing insight
  • Measurable targets to work toward

Because racing without data is guessing.

Running Programming (Solo, Doubles & Relay Options)

Three tailored running guides have been created to align with different race formats.

Each guide includes:

  • Steady-state aerobic runs to improve efficiency and oxygen transport
  • Tempo sessions to challenge lactate threshold
  • Interval work to increase VO₂ max and speed endurance

This means members aren’t just running more, they’re running smarter.

Fitness Racing Specific Sessions

Additional sessions focus on compromised running, the combination of running and station work that defines events like HYROX.

Members are exposed to:

  • Race-specific stations
  • Transition practice
  • Fatigue management
  • Pacing strategies

They learn how it feels to move under load, how to hold pace when fatigued and how to execute under pressure. That’s where confidence is built.

Recovery & Rest Protocols

Performance isn’t just about output, it’s about sustainability.

The program includes clear guidance around:

  • Active recovery sessions
  • Easy aerobic work
  • Stretching protocols
  • Scheduled rest days

This ensures members arrive at race day prepared.

Why This Programming Matters

Fitness racing has created a new type of athlete, it’s not just about the elites anymore, but everyday driven individuals who want to test themselves. Fitstop exists for the everyday athlete, our programming has always been performance-driven and progression-based. This additional Fitness Racing option simply gives members a clearer pathway to apply that training toward a defined event goal making their goals tangible, training purposeful and race day achievable.

Why This Matters for Owners

For franchise leads exploring Fitstop, this is where the model becomes powerful.

The industry moves quickly, trends come and go and it’s important to ensure you grow intentionally with what people are looking for with their training

Our Athletic Performance Team proactively builds programming that:

  • Keeps the product relevant
  • Supports emerging industry demands
  • Enhances member engagement
  • Creates additional touchpoints for community building

Additional Fitness Racing sessions give owners the opportunity to:

  • Deepen member relationships
  • Rally their community toward shared race goals
  • Increase retention through event-driven motivation
  • Add structured, supported session options without building them from scratch

This gives your FItstop the power to implement a framework that’s already been built and tested for seamless integration.

Staying Relevant in a Performance-Driven Industry

Fitness racing is part of a broader movement toward measurable performance and competitive participation among everyday athletes. Fitstop was built on performance from day one.

  • Structured 12-week blocks
  • Progressive overload
  • Coached sessions
  • Accountability and community

The Fitness Racing Program doesn’t change that foundation, it amplifies it by showing members that we understand where the industry is heading and where they want their goals to take them.

Fitstop training gets you where you want to go.
