On Saturday 23 May, Fitstop Albany #172 opened its doors in Western Australia — the newest addition to our global network. Waitlisted sessions, local vendor pop-ups, and a community ready to move. But, to make this milestone even more significant for our new owners, Fitstop Albany opened cash flow positive from day one.
That result was built long before opening day. Albany is what happens when franchise partners are backed by a clear plan, proven systems, and real support at every stage of the journey.
From Trainer to Owner
Jaimi had been coaching at Fitstop Bedford for some time before the idea of ownership ever entered the picture. But being inside a studio every day, seeing members show up consistently, hit milestones, and build real relationships through training, made the model hard to ignore. She wasn’t watching from the outside. She was delivering it. And at some point, she started thinking about what it could look like to bring that same experience back to the place she grew up.
Albany had always felt like home. When Jaimi reached out to her friend Lisa, she found someone who saw the same opportunity. Lisa knew the city, knew the community, and understood what a Fitstop could mean there. From that conversation, co-ownership took shape: two people from the same town, building something they both believed in.
“We really want to create a warm, welcoming space for everyone. Doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a seasoned pro. You can come in, you feel safe, you can try new things, you can lift heavy, you can fail. We want to be able to push you and also support you.” — Jaimi, Co-Owner, Fitstop Albany

Finding the Right Site
Once the decision was made, the next step was finding the right location. This isn’t something franchise partners navigate alone. The Fitstop HQ team works closely with owners through site selection, assessing local demographics, foot traffic, and long-term growth potential to make sure every location is set up to perform. For Jaimi and Lisa, that meant finding a site that could serve Albany’s community for years to come. Not just a space that was available, but the right space.
Designing the Space
With the site confirmed, Jaimi and Lisa worked alongside the Fitstop HQ team to bring the studio to life, from layout and equipment to the overall member experience. It is one of the less visible parts of opening a location, but one of the most important. Every decision shapes what members feel when they walk in and helps ensure Fitstop Albany delivers the same high standard of training experience as the wider network.
Building the Business Behind the Scenes
While the studio was being built, so was the business. Jaimi and Lisa worked with the Fitstop Operations and Marketing teams to shape their launch plan, build local awareness, drive pre-sales, and stay accountable through each stage of the process. By opening day, they were not starting from zero. They had a plan, a community already engaged, and momentum ready to convert.
The 12-Week Pre-Open Process
Twelve weeks out from opening, Fitstop Albany began its pre-open phase.
Through structured awareness-building activity, local engagement, and early training sessions led by coach Ella, the team introduced Fitstop to the community well before opening day. Members were meeting each other, experiencing the product, and feeling part of something before it officially existed. By opening day, they weren’t walking into something new. They were coming back.
Opening day: bringing it all together
By opening day, the foundation had already been laid. The doors opened to packed-out sessions, a live DJ, local vendors, and a team ready to deliver the best functional training experience possible. But more importantly, the community was already there. Members weren’t just showing up for day one. They were coming back to something they already felt part of. The energy was there because the work had already been done.
